Hey Mike,
Not sure what your team's skillset is, but I like the NSBasic software if I were developing true mobile apps.
You can build mobile apps using Basic syntax or Javascript and it has an interactive designer like Visual Studio.
You also can't beat the cost.
Your apps can be HTML based web server hosted apps or you can compile the same apps easily with Cordova/Phonegap.
And you can pretty much consume any URL based web service so IBMi or Windows data can be easily surfaced from an RPG-CGI app/service and PHP, .Net whatever else.

I have looked at a lot of methods but this seems like one of the simplest app builder platforms around that feels much like Visual Studio which was my personal requirement.

Subject: i and mobile
I would be interesting in hearing from anyone who has IBM i running your business and you are also into mobile app development or about to go there. I would be interested in your approach (browser apps using HTML5, native apps that are fully installed, hybrid with some parts installed and some obtained real-time from back end server (IBM i or Windows). What tool(s) you're using, are you doing it in house, did you retrain existing staff or had to hire new to get the skills. I need to make a choice for our direction soon. Most recent tool we look at was IBM Worklight. There are so many options and choices in this arena, and its changing weekly, it makes for a tough decision.
Thanks for any input
