"Resort fess" are sneaky ways to get more money from you. The Opryland in
Nashville once tried to hit me for newspapers and two bottles of water per
day during a COMMON conference.
Fortunately, I had saved all seven newspapers and all fourteen bottles of
water. I delivered them to the front desk upon checkout and told them they
needed to remove the charge from my bill, or they could discuss it further
with American Express.
After consulting with the manager, they chose the former option.
