The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Save the upgrade data to a USB stick
On the new HMC use the command (start the command line ) RSTUPGDATA from
the USB onto the new box
All the users configuration etc. will be there.
Caveat: If you have set up networking it will not override what you set up.
Go in and check it.
You will also need the HMC password for each system. Go into ASMI and
verify the password BEFORE you disconnect the old HMC.

Subject: HMC swap
I currently have 3 different iSeries connected to a HMC. This HMC will be
removed from production shortly. I have another HMC installed and ready to
be attached to the 3 systems.
After I make the wiring change, what is needed on the iSeries to be
recognized by the new HMC or what has to be done on the HMC after I power it
up
Thanks in advance
