RE: Power 8 and 7.1TR8 -- MIDRANGE-L

OK, finally have this figured out.

When you order MF9900x (or a PTF that requires it, as it looks like we did) you get the parts of TRx that are ready at that time (assuming TRx is not GA'ed yet). When you order it after the TR GA (which means SF99707 Level x), you get the whole TR.

Sorry for being misled by Support Line!

Correction - MF99008 wasn't with the cume, but with MF56818 and a bunch of others that came across as part of WRKPRB. That makes a bit more sense...

I just found that while the current cumulative PTF (1398) includes TR8 (marker PTF MF99008). However the TR group PTF (SF99707) still shows as level 7. It looks like the planned availability is 6/6/14 for SF99707 Level 8, although TR8 will still be installed with Cumulative 1398...

As usual MF99008 is 'just a PTF' so you will want the entire TR group.
While it is very likely that the needed hardware support is in MF99008
there may very well be subsequent fixes you'll want that come in the
group itself.
