Well, at least "future" is not in the past.
IBM stripped out all of the ancient history out of the "future" site at
http://www-947.ibm.com/systems/support/i/planning/upgrade/future.html
However, they've not put any "future" information into it.

What do I expect to see here?

Stuff like:
- 7.1 will be the last version to support this list of processors: (...)
- 7.1 will be the last version to support this kind of hardware
attachments (...)
- 7.1 will be the last version to support these levels of Java (...)
- 7.1 will be the last version to support these levels of Domino products
(...)
- 7.1 will be the last version to support these levels of Websphere
Application Server (...)

I don't think that's giving away too much. People expect this kind of
information. IBM used to be very forth coming on this site. The sooner
people upgrade to levels of hardware and software compatible with the next
release of the OS the sooner they can upgrade their OS.
