Someone else mentioned WOW - not sure how strong its graphing capabilities are.

Another feee option would be IBM Web Query which should give you what you need and you may find easier to "drive" than the SAP dashboards.

there is currently nothing that use the IBM i to the web except for
receiving of web orders. I don't know that process except that it
frequently hiccups. Otherwise only way we present data outside of the green
screen, is the Crystal report

there's per user but for us it would be in that ballpark. Look and feel is
ideally dashboards view. I do know some SQL. Data is on the IBM i.

Can you give us a bit more information on the look-and-feel of what you
are trying to achieve? Where is the data coming from? Are you familiar with
SQL? etc. etc.

Rather difficult to recommend anything if one is not familiar with SAP
Dashboards.

Is the SAP option really that cheap? I didn't think they did anything for
less that 5 digits - are you sure this isn't per user or something?

We run manufacturing on IBM i.Currently, we are putting in place
features which will provide users with quick view of orders being
worked on
at various statuses.

They would like to have graphical quick view of these statuses. So all
levels of managers on same page so to speak, how many orders in this or
that status etc.

I am asked to do this in Crystal reports, or SAP Dashboards. I just went
thru doing the SAP Dashboards (Xcelsius) trial version, and let's just
say,
the desire to work with this thing is not there... However SAP
Dashboards
has a nice feature of publishing as mobile app. Never used it though.

And I know crystal reports graphs are not that great. I really think
that
this is a need for browser interface. I would suggest writing in C#
using
Dev Express but this will be costly for them I think.

Does the cost come into play? sure. The SAP Dashboards full blown will
cost
about $2500.

Can you suggest other product which can be quickly learnt and be able
give
them the browser quick views needed.
