And even then, will the damaged drives be able to be certified as DOD
erased? Or could you technically read the disk fragments with an
oscilloscope or some such thing and recover the data? (Think Abby from
NCIS). If you truly have to achieve DOD certification best to follow
their methods. Granted, Iron Mountain, or some other company that can
physically shred disks might be able to get you that desired
certification.
