Short answer:
CR4 and up can run all currently avaiable hmc code. CR3 and C04 and below
have some limitations. When you go to the ibm site to download the HMC
recovery images the readme explains if it's supported or not.

Thanks Jim,

Very useful site, but I was actually after which models of HMC will run
which versions of the HMC software. That is, can I upgrade a model 7042-CR4
to V7R760? I'm guessing maybe not, but how do I find out the latest version
I can upgrade this model to?

Thanks

Hi,

I'm sure someone has asked this before, but I can't find an answer in the
archives. Does anyone know of an IBM site that shows the supported HMC
models for each level of the HMC OS? I have 7042CR4 and I want to know what
the highest level I can upgrade to is.

Thanks

Adam Driver
