There is a pc program from ibm(no warranty) called TransferTo XML
http://public.dhe.ibm.com/services/us/igsc/cs2/ApiSamples/

which allows for inserting a SQL statement to generate XML on your PC.

Includes source if interested how it works.

I need to extract data from a few tables and create a csv file. I
sorted out the SQL to select the data but the only way I can think of
getting csv output is to create a table and then use an insert statement
to write the data into the table and then use cpytoimpf to create the
csv. Making things more interesting is that the source files are
multi-membered.

Any shortcuts here? I can override the files used as input and wrap the
whole thing in a CL command but if someone knows of a better way, I am
all ears. Running IBM i 7.1 if it makes a difference.
