When creating the save sys virtual cd. Make sure you have perm applied any
ptf's that may be needed for the hardware.
With out perm applying the lic ptf's you might not have any requisite
ptf's on the media.

To get a bootable ISO do a SAVSYS to a virtual optical drive and image
catalog. Then FTP THAT image off and there you have it. Don't hose
yourself with the EBCDIC/ASCII thing though simply use BINARY mode.

Once you've booted that ISO you can then select the tape drive as
'Alternative Installation Device' and continue from that. The ISO in
this case functions much as a 'boot loader' to get enough of IBM i into
the machine to be able to access the tape drive what may be on another
bus etc.
