Online backup is great, if it is really backup and not just HA replication. :)

Have you considered a pair of small VTLs instead of a single tape drive?

We are going to online backup. But I don't always spill everything we're
doing. :)

We currently have 2 tape /libraries/ which cost us $300/mo in maintenance.
Once the online backup is in place, we're getting rid of those. We still
want to do /some/ local backup, however, so we're getting a single tape
/drive/ at a fraction of the maintenance cost.

That drive is going in next week.

I would think so.
However, Jeff, I thought you were going to a product that stores on disk
and replicates offsite automatically. And, doesn't use IBM save/restore
commands but uses their own programs to do so? Or was that just the drink
I was having at the time? Does it play well with BRMS?

We're having an additional tape drive installed next week. I'm correct
that I need to do INZBRM OPTION(*DEVICE) afterward, correct?
