Okay. Never mind. Just tried the export myself and it apparently uses CPYTOIMPF under the covers. Opening the exported file (even using PCASCII) in Excel shows the results as utter garbage.

Just stick to Run SQL Scripts... and export from there.

Rob,

I'm using System i Navigator in IBM System i Access for Windows V6R1, SI42323. I see an option to export the table.

{your system}
--Databases
----{your database}
------Schemas
--------{your schema}
----------Tables
------------{your table} <--click to select

Right-click and select Data-->Export...

This opens a wizard that appears to do a SELECT *... under the covers. Granted, it does export by default to the IFS but you can always set up a share and navigate to it via /QNTC.

I don't know if this functionality has been deprecated in IBM i Access 7.1 because I don't have visibility to that product but it's worth a shot if that's what you're using.
