Initialize Disk Drives so All Data is Erased Off of a System

Note this doesn't comply with DoD specs. If you need that you can purchase IBM Disk Sanitizer for i5/OS from IBM.

Subject: Cleansing or decommission of system

Hello all,
Is anyone aware of a specific IBM blessed procedure to ensure all data is scrubbed from a system selected for decommission? I've heard someone tell me the disk units must be initialized 7 times to truly comply with an audit.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Larry
