Forgot about addrout files. BLDINDEX was a later addition to S/36. Mostly
I used addrout for sorting and printing. Now there's an Fspec from the
past!
What was dead not too long after the S/36 came out and was used more on
the S/34 and it's predecessors were 'direct' files. Oh, yeah, rebuilding
a 'chain chase sequence' to define a bill of materials with a direct file
structure. Now there was productivity - not. But, as you said, you used
what was available at the time.
