Let me offer, from my java experience, that applications such as WebNav
are slow on first touch, but much faster subsequently. Log out and see how
fast the second click of "Log in" is. How fast is the second expansion of
memory pools?

Initial pass on Firefox (24.0) . Signed out, attempted to ran a second
pass. Frames completed, but Welcome page failed to render, attempt to
expand Active Memory Pools returned an error.

Reran the same two tasks under Chrome(30.0.1599.101 m) and Internet
Explorer (v10.0.9200.16721) connecting with the same credentials:

1) logon to welcome tab displayed: Firefox Chrome 60 seconds IE 63
seconds. frames were complete in the 15-20 second range, welcome page
render took the remainder.

2) expand Active Memory Pools in navigation bar: Chrome 72 seconds, IE, 68
seconds.

FWIW, browsers are running on Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64bit, dual core
Intel i5 , 8GB RAM.
