The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

The overhead with AnyNet is very bad. Works much faster over Enterprise Extender (which you can use as long as both boxes are at V5R4 or later). Make sure you get all the Enterprise Extender PTFs.

Well,
you can create replacements for SAVRST* with a complete new approach,
but these old IBM commands work rather fine using Anynet (APPC over IP).
If one is going to reprogram these commands, please implement a good compression :)

I guess that a TCP/IP version of the SAVRST* family have been duplicated by a number of people. However, I wonder if any of them have done it using the save/restore to/from application APIs and their own sockets application to start the send before the save was complete and to start the restore before the comm is complete? Thus enhancing performance and reducing temporary storage used.
