and just a little about XML which direction would you go? Besides back to
pickin cotton :)

What he said was that JSON is clearly better than XML for data
transport, and I wholeheartedly agree. If your familiarity with XML
is strong, and you already have lots of tooling at hand to deal with
XML, I'd say those *might* outweigh JSON's advantages. You make it
sound like that's not the case, so I recommend JSON. Of course I
can't speak for Scott.
