How about this:

SELECT COUNT(odobnm), odobnm, odldat, odltim
FROM myfile
WHERE odldat = 090713 OR odldat = 090813
Group by odldat
ORDER BY odldat

Not ideal, as you get two numbers. Or maybe group on some field that has
same value for every row.

Works in MS-SQL anyway.

Hi Mark, that doesn't work, says not valid;

Column ODOBNM or expression in SELECT list not valid.

SELECT COUNT(odobnm), odobnm, odldat, odltim
FROM myfile
WHERE odldat = 090713 OR odldat = 090813
ORDER BY odldat

SELECT COUNTodobnm), odobnm, odldat, odltim
FROM myfile
WHERE odldat = 090713 OR odldat = 090813
ORDER BY odldat
