Added to what Jim said: If My CE could not find the correct parts he would not be allowed within 100 ft of my equipment. It's his job to be able to do this.

Remember that in Power Systems land like Jim said, part numbers change, sometimes frequently and we use Feature Codes and always have. IBM does any needed translation and thus gets us the most recent EC level.

Resist the temptation to find part numbers on Power Systems gear. Just do it!

Two things. First the part number may have changed if there was any
change in the battery, supplier, specs, engineering change etc, so I'm
not surprised the part numbers don't line up for you.

Second: Why are you telling him part numbers? Give him the feature
code and CCIN and let him find the numbers. That way you'll always have
the most recent engineering changes. That's why he has an IBM internal
site to look this stuff up with.

Perhaps it's this local CE but I'm having an issue with cache batteries. I
have a 575C card that needs a new cache battery. Hardware infocenter
calls cache battery 39J5555. And a 57B7 that needs a new cache battery.
Hardware infocenter calls cache battery 44V4145. CE says he can't find
neither of the part numbers 39J5555 nor 44V4145. Says they are not valid
part numbers. How do I translate that for him?
