let me guess: new system, restore a few libraries from old system and
call it an upgrade? Yeah, it can be done. However, stuff like this is
why people spend more time cleaning up the mess than the time they would
have lost upgrading the old system to 7.1 and them migrating that. Oh
well, I suppose there's some reason like the old model supported nothing
newer than V5R4 and the new model supports nothing less than 7.1...

These printers look like they may have been hooked up with a MarkNet
device which often can be a lan device with maybe a parallel and a serial
port on it of which both can be used (much as you've shown). Too bad of
the last two people here who hooked up these old devices, one passed away
way too early in life (<expletive deleted> cancer) and the other was given
the choice to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
