last used date in a library is not updated. I searched the midrange
archives for "last used date" and library.

I suspect IBM didn't want to customize the DSPOBJD screen for each object
type.
You could DSPOBJD to an outfile, and query it, or the file QAEZDISK (which
is updated whenever you run RTVDSKINF).
would be quite easy to get the info from that. Something like
select max(lastused), libname from qaezdisk order by libname group by
libname
