Did you sign off & on after changing your user profile?

Before doing the CREATE VIEW, do a DSPJOB and page down 3 times to see the CCSID ("Coded character set identifier").

What the CCSID for the signed-on user should appear where the cursor
is positioned. Based on the symptoms, I expect the value will be one of

available from the DSPUSRPRF via any of the specified OUTPUT; for the

possibly even before.
