Also, the first line of
WRKHDWRSC *PRC
is helpful.
Resource Type-model
CEC01 9117-MMA
Using an option 7 on it shows:
Type-model . . . . . . . . . : 9117-MMA
Serial number . . . . . . . : 10-3BDDD
Part number . . . . . . . . :
Processor feature code . . . : 7380
Processor feature . . . . . : 7380

WRKLICINF will show you
Processor group . . . . . . . . . . . : P30
Which isn't so much of an indicator of performance anymore as it was
something software vendors used to use to figure out software pricing.
Apparently there's this belief that a bigger machine should subsidize
smaller machines, sort of like the local restaurant that gives a huge
discount to seniors but now rarely has any customers under the age of 60.
Today's P05 processor group might blow away a P30 from a decade and a half
ago.
Big marketing slogan: Upgrade your machine. Downgrade to a lower
processor group and reduce your software maintenance fees yet still have a
faster processor with more memory.
However the vendors are starting to catch on...
