It sounds like the system isn't able to find the function's Signature
using the exec statement.

I've seen similar issues where the system is doing a type conversion
under the covers.

In order to my issue I had to cast each of the input variables to the
function like this:

Exec Sql

Call NEWSYS.GETTAX010R( CAST( :pInPostalCode AS CHAR(6)),

CAST(:pInCityName AS CHAR(25)),

CAST( :pOtGST AS DEC(8,6)),

CAST(:pOtPST AS DEC(8,6)),

CAST(:pOtHST AS DEC(8,6)),

CAST(:pOtStTax AS DEC(8,6)),

CAST(:pOtCnTax AS DEC(8,6)),

CAST(:pOtCtyTax AS DEC(8,6)),

CAST(:pOtTotTax AS DEC(8,6)),

CAST(:pOtNFErr AS CHAR(2));

Doing it this way allowed the system to match the SQL Function's
Signature.

I'd also note that I did this using a Dynamically Prepared statement
with replacement parameters, so it might work differently for static
statements.
