For those who may be interested in "web acceleration", I would suggest setting up an Apache server on a Linux partition and configure it to handle SSL encryption, gzip compression, cache, and static content. Have it forward requests for dynamic content (database driven) to an IBM i Apache instance.

The "accelerator" you describe sounds very strange in addition to being a nuisance.
