Actually, according to the IT Jungle article, in the paragraph following this one, it says that IBM recommended that DEVCON attendees go to RPG/DB2 Summit, so as not to leave a hole in training opportunities.

I thought I read something about Jon Paris and his group encouraging DevCon interested parties to attend their conference. Things are just moving in different directions and indeed a 'sign of the times'.
