Rob,

No need to slip the LIC. If you are on the latest TR, just add the PTFs for the Native Storage attach to Strowize V7000/V3700 and you will be even. You only need the respin if you are going to load a system from scratch from a D-Mode Manual IPL and were going to use one of the Storwize V3700/V7000 directly (or via Fabric attached). No VIOS required.

This is what the respin contains. TR remain as is. Because the latest TR came out early this time, the fibre attached from IBM I to Storwize V7000/V3700 PTFs didn't make the cut for TR6.

Well, I just noticed something. IBM just issued a new resave on 5/31, with no corresponding new TR! See the chart at http://www-947.ibm.com/systems/support/i/planning/resave/v7r1.html
and tie that into
http://blog.itechsol.com/?goback=.gmp_2206093.gde_2206093_member_249180841

So apparently if you want to upgrade to the new storage you'll have to slip the lic versus just putting on a TR. Or does IBM figure that's all new installs?
