I'll add this. If you have a tough time not replying to a digest. Or find
it a pain to just get the pertinent parts in, change your heading, etc.,
then I suggest changing your subscription away from digest mode. I don't
use digest mode. I use an email filter to route all of this list email to a
separate folder.

Please do not copy the entire digest when replying. Aside from being
really annoying, it fouls up the archives.
The jury is out on a thread, I tend to copy most of the relevant
portions of a thread in a reply to maintain context, others really
dislike that practice too, relying on the list software and email client
features to do that for them. I guess that's a personal preference.
