Hi, James:

You really need to ask them exactly what they mean by "virtual machines" -- it could be a Citrix Metaframe type of environment. I think VMWare also markets a "thin" deployment model where each user gets their own virtual machine, dispensed from a central server, when they sign-on. There are other vendors as well, such as Microsoft's own VirtualPC and vSphere.
