One Big Issue unless they have changed the code is that it will only scrub
disks NOT on the same Controller as the Loadsource Disk. So for Small
Single Controller systems it won't work.

Hi

Has anyone used the IBM disk sanitizer who has some hints they are willing
to share ? I need to scrub a couple of systems clean of all data and have
been asked to use this tool as opposed to/in addition to initializing the
system.

I've read the IBM documentation here:

ftp://public.dhe.ibm.com/systems/support/system_i/tools/PRPQ5799SD1README.pdf

From what I can figure out, I need to:
- Install the licensed product 5799 SD1
- Remove all user data and objects from the system
- Remove all unnecessary Licensed Programs from the system
- Logically remove all disks from the system (except the load source)
- End RAID
- Run the sanitizer over the unconfigured disks from SST

Is there a simple way to do a D IPL from a LIC disk and initialize the
system and then run the sanitizer or are the steps above the approved
approach ?

Any comments at all appreciated.
