We have 2 iSeries boxes, lets call them PROD01 and TEST01. It is very
typical that I create a program on TEST01 I need to put it in a test library
on PROD01. I do this many times a week. I taught another user how to do this
also and all worked fine for him until last week.
When I FTP either box from the other one and get signed on, the first thing
is says after signing on is:

OS/400 is the remote operating system. The TCP/IP version is "V6R1M0".
250 Now using naming format "0".
257 "QGPL" is current library.

When if I do a NAMEFMT it shows up as:

Server NAMEFMT is 0.
Client NAMEFMT is 0.

My fellow user had just the exact same result until last week. Now when he
does an FTP from PROD01 to TEST01 it shows up exactly the same as me, but
when he does FTP from TEST01 to PROD01, the initial message is:

OS/400 is the remote operating system. The TCP/IP version is "V6R1M0".
250 Now using naming format "1".
257 "/home/RWPAFF" is current directory.

When he does NAMEFMT, he gets the following:

Server NAMEFMT is 1.
Client NAMEFMT is 0.

I cannot find a way to change it so that he comes up with current library of
QGPL and NAMEFMT of 0 when going from TEST01 to PROD01.

Any suggestions? Why does it work for me and not him and how did it all of a
sudden change?

Thanks.
