most new app developers will select Windows or Linux because
they can host a cheap version of their app on one of these servers
at Rackspace or Amazon and Viola instant Saas.
Are we talking about cloud servers for developers, or end-users? Development environments, or production environments?
What sort of RackSpace configuration including just their pricing would you suggest to support an application of say 500 DB Tables, 1500 Indexes, 1000 Views, including complete DB maintenance, transaction processing, reporting (HTML & PDF), end-of-day procedures, batch processing, & daily backups? Say 10 separate client environments and 2K-3K concurrent users with say 23.5 / 7 uptime requirements?
