The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

The wedge software that is most often used to attach handheld scanners to computers usually emulates a keyboard. Each character in the barcode is translated into a keystroke. There is no keystroke equivalent for ascii x'1E' so there's no telling what the wedge software is doing, it may just quit, or it may substitute some keystroke the 5250 emulator won't accept. You'll probably have to go into the wedge software configuration and map some kind of character to x'1E', x'1D' and x'04'. Should be fairly simple to do and you should be able to map only the barcode symbology in question.

Subject: 2D Barcode with ASCii characters
I have a 2D barcode that has embedded ASCii characters.
When I scan that barcode into my Client Access session, the barcode is never input in the screen field. It appears to stop after reading the 1st ASCii 30 character.
Has anyone experienced this issue. If so, what was the resolution?
The format of the 2D barcode is:
[)>(Rs)06(Gs)P[PN](Gs)K[PO](Rs)(Eot)
Where:
Rs = Ascii 30
Gs = Ascii 29
Eot = Ascii 4
[PN] = Part Number
[PO] = Purchase Order Number
TIA
Michael Smith
