For our control groups our "append to media" is set to *BKUPCY.
For our backup policy our "append to media" is *NO.
If we run a backup on Friday night, and Monday night, with Monday being a
holiday, we want that on two separate tapes. With *YES they would be on
one tape (space permitting). Right?
I don't know why we do it that way. Perhaps we're still thinking like we
did pre BRMS. I'm not saying it's good, bad, or indifferent. I'm just
saying that something to be aware of with appending media. I guess since
BRMS does a fine job of telling you what file was saved on what date/time
and to what sequence number on which tape volume, you shouldn't give a
rip. But your operations may differ.
