PAL info

Is there anyway to save/export data from the PAL (Product Activity Log) on
one partition for import into the PAL on another partition ? I know it
sounds like a really stupid question (import PAL data...seriously ?) but I
am doing tape backups from a flashcopy partition and would like to be able
to migrate the media stats (media error counts in particular) back to the
original partition. As it stands now I have no useful tape stats as they
never update on the original partition. If anyone has any other way to do
this short of keeping track of them manually myself I would be most
interested.
