If you're using Crystal, make sure to consider simply generating XML files
for input and then the reports are for presentation only. Simplifies the
process.
If you're looking for IBM i based alternatives our iForms product can be
used to natively generates reports and electronic forms in a variety of
formats including print, PDF, HTML, RTC, CSV and more.
CL commands can also be embedded in your application code as needed.

subject: Crystal Reports using AS/400 data
Was interested in hearing how people find using CR with the AS/400.
How do you make the connection is there any issues there.
Do you use Logical views on the AS/400 or run SQL Queries. Assuming for
dynamic needs from user, wants latest data.
Do you make all formatting and data massaging on the AS/400 or do you use
the formula features of CR.
I heard that fastest method for CR is to use their parameters for
filtering, is this so?
