Incorrect. You can configure the i's SMTP server to deliver mail
itself or to relay to another server.
I'm starting a new thread because configuring the SMTP as a relay is only a tangent to Paul's text message concerns. I looked at the SMTP properties in System i Navigator and could not figure out how to set up the server as a "relay".
Could you share how to do it?
I'm aware of various email interfaces that enable folks to bypass the IBM i SMTP server altogether, and relay at will, but how do you configure IBM i SMTP to relay?
