Query/36 and Query/400 were almost identical. As a Query/36 "power user," I recall being thrilled on Query/400 that I no longer had to link my output file to an IDDU format to get at the data!

Query/36 was very user friendly. I am told that Query/400 was modeled off of that. And that the S/38 query was basically a programmers tool.
