I have talked to Mark Anderson, the DB2 architect, about this - he seemed to have pretty strong arguments against adding SELECT. There apparently had been internal discussions on this, I'm not sure I understood the reasons against doing it.

I also had some odd issues around the community page at COMMON - they may have been resolved, I'll see when I pull requirements over to the CAAC side - BTW, Rob, everything you've entered will be over by Austin.

This seems to be a thing many of us want, especially since we have been able to have it using QMQRY all along. So I encourage anyone here either to submit a DCR or to go to www.common.org and go to the Community tab - get a user name and password - doesn't have to be a COMMON member ID - and enter a requirement there - the more the better chance of it happening.

Let me add this though, I think I've submitted a DCR to add SELECT
capability to RUNSQL.
I'd try to point you to a COMMON requirement but, once again, that site
allows me to log in to the Members Only but when I try to get into
requirements it keeps asking me for user id and password. Tried both IE
and FF. Clicked on the email me the user id and password and got an email
that wouldn't tell me the user id - it just said "Use your COMMON-ID to
log in". But it did give me the password. Which is what I am using. For
my COMMON-ID I use the same one I use on the Members Only section: 6
numeric digits.
