Since I'm usinng STRDBG, must I also ENDDBG or will the ending of the pgm automatically ENDDBG...or is it even worth worrying about?

ichael Sansoterra has a nice RPG pgm he published awhile back to make a
OKUPSQL command. Using the same WHERE clause allows you to load a CL variable
th the result.
t won't get the rows deleted directly, but should be the same thing.
lso STRDBG will show the number of rows deleted I believe - maybe the job log
uld show that.

hanks Paul. Any idea how to get details of how many records were deleted when
ing RUNSQL in batch in a CLP? That would be nice. What I usually do is dspfd
and aftet the RUNSQL.

d was able to use RUNSQL like this:
UNSQL SQL('DELETE FROM QTEMP/FILEA WHERE JOJOB = ''TJOBC''')
MMIT(*NONE)
ow, I’m using this select statement:
elect *
rom t18pf
here joentt = 'CA'
and jojob = 'QZLSFILET'
and jopgm = 'QLESPI'
hat’s the syntax of the RUNSQL that would delete based on that select, if
sible?
RUNSQL SQL('DELETE from t18pf where joentt = ''CA'' and jojob = 'QZLSFILET''
jopgm = ''QLESPI'' ') ) COMMIT(*NONE)
or perhaps:
RUNSQL SQL('create view qtemp/dlt_from as ( select * from t18pf here joentt
'CA'' and jojob = ''QZLSFILET'' and jopgm = ''QLESPI''
COMMIT(*NONE)
RUNQRY *N ((QTEMP/DLT_FROM)) /* optionally verify result of SELECT */
RUNSQL SQL('delete from qtemp/dlt_from') COMMIT(*NONE)
