Hey, the whole system is IFS, right? Well, I can do this
EDTF '/ARCHIVE/NOTES/DATA/archive'
and hit F16 on the size column to sort it by object size.
But, it acts stupid weird when I try
EDTF '/QSYS.LIB/ROUTINES.LIB'

Not sure if "it" is F16 or the EDTF itself, and no clue what "weird" means. But to get the list of what is in the directory try instead:
EDTF '/QSYS.LIB/ROUTINES.LIB/*'

Although not being a request against the directory itself, then perhaps the sort is unavailable? Though I do not recall sizes being displayed on those interfaces for /QSYS.LIB lists anyhow; probably to avoid the overhead that is seen for doing that with DSPLIB, to sum up the sizes for complex object types.

If I try WRKLNK '/QSYS.LIB/ROUTINES.LIB' and then use option 2 to
edit ROUTINES.LIB it gives me CPFB41A-Object type is not valid for
operation. <expletive deleted> it! Is it IFS or not?

I suppose you want to be able to 2=Edit a .DTAARA or a .PGM too ;-)
