Absolutely!

Configure TWO VSCSI-Host connections on the Host partition. Configure Two VSCSI-Guest connections on the target machine. (Be sure to pair them up. :-) )

Create an additional NWSD on the host but you can't use *AUTO for the resource name - you'll need to ferret out the resource for the second NWSD.

Be sure that Power Control is *NO on the second one.
Be sure that you restrict ALL tape and DVD on the second one or the stuff appears twice!!
*I* usually set the second NWSD to be varied on at all times so I can just ignore it.

Attach new disks to the second NWSD.

In fact IBM encourages you to use a separate NWSD for Tape/Optical than for disk.
