Subject: RE: iSeries to NetBackup
We are currently working on a new backup component that will allow you to:
1.) Back up user objects and libraries to a network folder. You could then schedule Netbackup or something else to pick up those objects and send to an online service or somewhere else.
2.) Back up and regularly archive source file data members to an SVN source repository, thus allowing you to still work the source members from your libraries, but member changes will get synced to an SVN repository daily. The source members will be stored in a format where they can be directly accessed by an editor such as RDP or synced back to the iSeries if needed. All source lines, dates and comments are preserved.
Anyone interested in discussing this, feel free to contact me directly.
PS: As part of our SAAS offerings we can even provide SVN repository or other hosting services for your file backups if desired, but Netbackup should work fine if that's what you have.

To expand on this question.. Is anyone using any cloud service to store iSeries backups to replace or augment current offsite tape storage?

Is there a way to backup an iSeries through Symantec Netbackup?
