The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
I've built commands/CLP's for clients that are more straightforward than
IBM's.
For example,
REBOOT - Guess what that does
SHUTDOWN - Powers off with restart(*no)
KILLSYSTEM - Brings system down to a restricted state
WEEKLY - Runs the equivalent of a Save 21.
NIGHTLY - Runs a regular backup to tape for the application software
FASTSAVE - Backs up the application software data only, and to a save file.

Subject: RE: PWRDWNSYS in CL program
Does CL have something like RPG's %shutdown (or whatever that is)?
Therefore, if you did a controlled shutdown the cl program could check for
that upon return.
