As you have discovererd, Sharepoint definitely works nicely as a report
repository.
Our DeliverNow product supports pushing documents to Sharepoint Document
Libraries based on business rules for access including version controlling
the docs.
So far 2013 seems like an iteration with nothing super revolutionary.
Just bigger hardware/software requirements :-)

We have it installed and running already. We now convert most spool files
to PDF and send them to Sharepoint instead of printing & couriering them
out to our branches.
