Normally I save before IPL. Is this recommending an IPL first?
Actually I do
- download/order all cume, group, misc, "recommended PTF's", etc
- INSPTF all cume, group, misc, "recommended PTF's", etc without IPLing
- Set them to apply during the next IPL (to be done later)
- Bring system to restricted state
- RCLSTG
- Do full BRMS save.
- IPL.
Should I instead do
- download/order all cume, group, misc, "recommended PTF's", etc
- CHGIPLA STRPRTWTR(*NO) STRRSTD(*YES)
- APYPTF LICPGM(5770999) SELECT(*ALL) APY(*PERM) DELAYED(*YES)
- Bring system to restricted state
- PWRDWNSYS DELAY(120) RESTART(*YES)
- INSPTF all cume, group, misc, "recommended PTF's", etc without IPLing
- Set them to apply during the next IPL (to be done later)
- RCLSTG
- Do full BRMS save.
- IPL.
It's an extra IPL. But you pretty much have to do that to apply a TR
anyway.
