I've been looking for that documentation for over 10 years. I haven't found it yet. If you do find it, let us all know.

Our solution has been to drive the VI Client via COM dll to display the document with annotations and export the as TIFF with the annotations burned in. Then we'll import that into our product as a second version of the "un-annotated" document.

The annotations are probably some proprietary wrappers around MO:DCA, the wrappers giving page and page coordinates as well as attribution (who did it, what time). Greg McClusky at Genus Technologies (formerly MBS) has more information, but they're a bit protective of that knowledge.

Subject: File format of Content Manager annotations

Does anyknow know what the file format is of content manager annotations?

In IBM Content Manager 5.1/5.3 for iSeries you can overlay annotations on a document within content manager without actually modifying the underlying document. It then overlays it onto the document.

We are looking at upgrading, but am having a hard time finding documentation on the file format IBM uses for these annotations.
