The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

If I upgrade a partition from V6R1M1 to V7R1 and need to roll back,
can I just slip the lic and the OS or do I have to do a full restore?
When an attempt is made to slip an older release over a
newer-release, the LIC installation is supposed to halt with a SRC to
prevent a back-level.
Presumably a SAVSTG is an option for any partition just as with a
non-partitioned system.? Having such a saved image [in addition to the
full system backups in case there is a media error on the image] is a
nice option to have available, from which a reset\roll-back can be made
to the saved installation's release\hardware to include all system and
user data. That is, the /restore storage/ operation is much easier and
faster than a scratch install of the LIC and OS followed by the *NONSYS
restore. I believe in either case the first step initializes the disks
so that no visibility of the newer-release installation remains; the
latter case, for sure.
