As Larry pointed out it depends on if you can start the system from your media or not. If you need optical, either A) you build it yourself by creating you own install media, B) download the latest respin from IBM, or C) remove any hardware not supported on your current LIC media. (C is almost never an option)

BRMS is great once the LIC is loaded and the disk are all ready, and the OS is loaded. Getting all that done your about on your own. Once the OS is loaded then the BRMS instructions pick up and you complete your restore.
