The 5706 is a 1GB adapter. It will also to 10/100MB.

Doing less than 1GB when you have it set to auto is probably caused by the
settings on the switch the card is attached to. You may have some control
over your local switch. The switch at your "managed data center" might be
a little different. I've never worked with that arrangement. I see one
of several scenarios:
- Ask and you shall receive.
- Ask and you shall receive (for an additional fee).
- Ask and you'll be asked why do you care when the data line connection
you have between the two locations won't support it anyway.
- Ask and you'll be told you'd have to pay extra and need additional
hardware for a higher speed pipe between the local and remote.

Upping the speed on your local switch "may" enhance performance between
local devices (like your PC) and your local i.

Will some switches say if you are both set to Auto just drop down to a
lower speed but if you set your i to 1GB will it then jump up to 1GB?

"What problem are you trying to solve?"
Are slow speeds causing your Mimix copies to take too long thus affecting
other business considerations? What?
